EA Sports have revealed the 27 top-rated men’s and women’s players ahead the much-anticipated release of FC 27 with Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé leading the way.
The Real Madrid and Manchester City forwards have both been rated 91 — that’s the same rating Mbappé was given in last year’s game, while Haaland has moved up one from 90.
Both players’ ratings will have been boosted by strong showings at this summer’s World Cup. Haaland rose to a new level of fame in the U.S. while scoring seven goals for Norway and Mbappé’s 10 goals gave him his second World Cup Golden Boot. The Frenchman also leapfrogged a number of legendary current and former players to become the leading scorer in World Cup history (22).
Haaland and Mbappé sit just above Spain captain Rodri, current Ballon d’Or holder Ousmane Dembélé, Barcelona star Lamine Yamal and England duo Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham who have all been given a rating of 90.
Lionel Messi‘s stellar World Cup campaign has seem him move back up to a rating of 89 from 86.
Three of Arsenal‘s Premier League title winners are among the top 27 — Gabriel Magalhães, William Saliba and Declan Rice.
Six members of PSG’s double Champions League-winning squad are in the top 27.
There were also some notable drops in the ratings with Virgil van Dijk dropping from the 90 rating he received in EA FC 26 to 88 in the upcoming release.
More notably, Van Dijk’s former Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah, who shared top spot in the men’s game with Mbappe last year, has dropped out of the top 27 altogether following his lacklusture final season at Anfield and subsequent move to Trabzonspor.
On the women’s side, new London City Lionesses signing Alexia Putellas remains the top-rated player in the game (91).
She sits one above her former Barcelona teammate Aitana Bonmatí who struggled with injuries in the 2025-26 season.
Man City’s Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw also gets a 90 rating after firing her team to the Women’s Super League (WSL) title.
Surprisingly, Arsenal and England forward Alessia Russo has been downgraded from 89 to 88 despite her impressive performances last season.
Shaw and Russo are among 11 WSL players among the top 27, highlighting the growing stature of the English women’s top flight.
EA FC 27 will be available worldwide on Sept. 25.
