Brazil winger Antony has revealed that his home in Seville was burgled while he was playing for Real Betis in their Champions League match against Porto on Wednesday.
The former Manchester United player, who started at the La Cartuja stadium, posted a statement on his Instagram story: “A night that promised to be brilliant ended up becoming a night of anger, sadness, and frustration. My home was burgled.”
“Knowing that everything we have achieved with so much effort, work and dedication has been taken by someone who has no idea of the battles that we have had to fight to achieve each thing.
“What angers me most is not just the material loss, but the feeling of insecurity inside the place where we should feel most protected.
“It’s looking at my family and seeing, in the eyes of the people I love most, the fear and insecurity that a situation like this leaves in its wake. There is no material possession in the world more valuable than my family’s life and well-being.”
Antony is the second LaLiga player to report a home robbery this week.

Villarreal goalkeeper Péter Gulácsi sat out his team’s Champions League win over Napoli on Tuesday after he and his family were victims of an armed robbery a day earlier.
Gulacsi, who returned to training on Thursday, said no one was injured but described the ordeal as “deeply traumatic.”
Antony joined Betis initially on loan in January 2025 before making his transfer permanent later that summer.
