Jadon Sancho interest from Getafe: ‘We made a final offer’ – club president

Getafe president Ángel Torres has confirmed the club is interested in signing free agent Jadon Sancho.

The England winger has been without a club since Manchester United opted not to trigger the one-year option on the player at the end of last season.

Asked about reports that Getafe is looking to sign Sancho, Torres told Cadena Cope radio on Thursday: “That’s absolutely true; I’ve been working on this for four months. He’s now a free agent. We’ve made him a final offer.”

Sancho spent the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Aston Villa from Man United and won the Europa League.

During his five years at United, he also had loan spells with Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea.

He was linked with a return to Dortmund during the summer but a move ultimately didn’t materialise.

Getafe signed former Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal earlier this week, with the 34-year-old right-back joining as a free agent.

Torres knows bringing Sancho to Getafe will be more difficult.

“He’s 26 years old, he’s very good, so this [signing] is a bit trickier,” Torres said on Sancho. “He’s previously played for Manchester [United] and Aston Villa, so it’s not as if he’s coming from anywhere. I know he’s got offers from Qatar and from a number of other places.

“We need to be patient, not put pressure on him, and let him decide for himself.”

Getafe, based in the Madrid region, are 14th in LaLiga.

They have won two and lost four of their opening eight league games and have mustered just four league goals so far.

Getafe are also competing in the UEFA Conference League and drew 1-1 at Craiova on Thursday.
