Sevilla have lodged a formal complaint to LaLiga following Sunday’s controversial 4-1 league defeat at Real Madrid.
The Andalusian club felt refereeing decisions put them at a disadvantage at the Bernabeú.
Sevilla coach Luis Garcia Plaza was furious after Madrid’s Arda Güler was not sent off for an elbow on Gerard “Peque” Fernandez — which occurred when the game was scoreless — saying his team was “denied the chance to play another game, 11 against 10.”
Güler scored Madrid’s opener in the 30th minute.
There were other incidents that Sevilla were unhappy with, according to the club, that were not replayed on TV during the live encounter or on the game highlights.
In a club statement, Sevilla highlighted the “unequal and inadequate coverage in the broadcast and replays of decisive moments in the match.”
Sevilla claim that Marc Cucurella’s challenge on thier player “Peque,” Güler’s elbow and the foul leading up to Real Madrid’s second goal were “deliberately omitted from the official match highlights, despite footage being available.”

Sevilla have demanded LaLiga for a “thorough investigation” into what happened and for measures to be taken “to ensure impartial, consistent and fair treatment of all clubs in the competition.”
Moreover, the club stressed their differences of opinion and disagreement with the explanation given to them by Spain’s Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) during their meeting on Tuesday where they discussed the controversial incidents during the game.
