Youri Tielemans admitted “everything was missing” in Manchester United’s humiliating defeat to Como.
Michael Carrick’s position is hanging in the balance as a poor start to the season reached a nadir in Wednesday’s 4-1 Champions League loss in Italy.
The fact United skipper Bruno Fernandes publicly questioned the head coach’s approach increased the speculation over his future ahead of Sunday’s return to Premier League action at home to Bournemouth.
Summer signing Tielemans told MUTV: “It wasn’t a great atmosphere in [the dressing room], which everyone can understand, but we need to move on.
“We have got games coming, but it was very poor [against Como].
“Everything was missing. We were disjointed as a team, we didn’t play well together, our press was off.
“When we were on the ball, we couldn’t make the right decisions. Obviously you get frustrated in the game and they played around us too easily so, like I said, it was a poor night.”
Furious Carrick marched over to the away section at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia to apologise to the remaining United fans at the final whistle.
Tielemans echoed the manager’s sentiments but knows performances are all that matter after United went a seventh straight match without a win.

“They travel all the way and don’t want to see this,” the midfielder said.
“The only thing we can do now is apologise. But we can apologise as much as we want, we just need to put the performance out on the pitch and at the moment we aren’t doing that.
“It’s tough times for them, especially supporting the club, and we have to fight as players.”
