Harry Kane paraded the Ballon d’Or in front of fans at the Allianz Arena before Bayern Munich’s game against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, his first appearance since winning the award.
The England captain — alongside wife Katie and his four children — was applauded onto the pitch by both sets of players ahead of Der Klassiker, while ‘Land of Hope and Glory’ played over the PA system.
“I’m extremely proud to be a Bayern player,” Kane said in his address to the crowd. “I hope we win many more titles together.”
The ceremony took place after a golden banner featuring an image of Kane was unfurled in the centre circle, alongside graphics on the video screen and the advertising boards.
When walking onto the pitch, the Englishman was referred to by the stadium announcer as “the best footballer in the world, Harry Kane!”
On Monday, the 33-year-old became the first Englishman since Michael Owen in 2001 to win the prestigious award, after an incredible 2025-26 season in which he scored 73 goals for club and country.
He received a guard of honour from his teammates before Wednesday’s 5-1 German Cup win over second-tier FC Magdeburg on Wednesday, but did not come off the bench in that game.
In beating the likes of Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal, Kane became the fourth Bayern player to win the Ballon d’Or after Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Saturday’s Klassiker began with both teams level on 17 points at the top of the Bundesliga table.
Konrad Laimer’s first-half goal had Bayern 1-0 up at the break, after Jobe Bellingham’s opener had been ruled out by VAR.
