A furious Oliver Glasner suggested he could walk away from Nottingham Forest unless the club make major changes following their latest defeat.
A freak own goal from Nikola Milenkovic and Igor Thiago’s late strike left Forest second from bottom in the Premier League after a 2-0 loss at Brentford.
Former Crystal Palace boss Glasner was appointed as Forest’s fifth head coach in less than a year at the start of the season, but the Austrian warned the club could soon be looking for a sixth unless a “s— situation” improves.
“Just talking about the result today, and it’s disappointing and frustrating. And we have to accept it’s not good enough,” he said.
“If you lose four of the last five games, it’s not good enough. And that’s why for me, it’s now time that we change things, that I change things, and that’s what I will do.
“I feel I could see a few things from day number one. I feel now maybe I made too many compromises in some stuff. And it’s always compromises. It’s a clear way. I will tell what we want to do, what we have to do.
“And if the players buy in, I think we can have a turnaround. And if not, the sixth manager will come in.
“I have no consequences. I think you see that. For me, I go home and have breakfast with my family.
“Nobody needs to have pity with Oliver Glasner. If I want, I could start in two weeks somewhere else. I won’t do it. But the players, the staff, they remain in the same situation.
“And it’s the same, sorry for the word, s— situation that the club had last year. So you need to change and rebuild from the bottom to the top.
“And this is clear for me. And this is what I will do. And without any compromises. Zero, zero.
“And if these things don’t work, they will let me know.”
Victory ended Brentford’s four-match winless run in what was the 100th Premier League game at the Gtech Stadium, and left them sitting pretty in sixth.
Boss Keith Andrews said: “I think it’s our best win of the season. You have to show different traits to other matches we’ve played this season.
“This opposition and how they play, how they set up to try to condense the pitch, they test you in different ways. There was a lot of smart play and leadership from our players, which I liked.
“On so many levels I think it’s a brilliant win.”
