Kai Havertz becomes all-time record German goalscorer in Premier League

Kai Havertz’s winning goal in Arsenal’s 1-0 triumph at Liverpool on Sunday made him the record German goalscorer in the Premier League.

The Gunners forward surpassed the mark of former Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gündogan when he tapped home his 46th goal in the competition after 16 minutes at Anfield.

It was his third league strike of the campaign, taking his overall total for the north London club to 27.

He scored 19 Premier League goals during his spell with Chelsea from 2020 to 2023, a period during which he also netted a Champions League final winner.

Brighton’s Pascal Gross is the competition’s third most prolific German with 34, ahead of former Arsenal player Mesut Ozil with 33.
