Patrick Dorgu returns to Man United training ahead of Roma clash

Michael Carrick has been handed an injury boost ahead of Manchester United‘s Champions League tie against Roma after Patrick Dorgu was able to return to training.

Dorgu took part in the session at Carrington on Monday after more than a month out with a hamstring problem.

The 22-year-old hasn’t featured since the 1-1 draw with Fulham on Sept. 20. He was injured during the last international break while on duty with Denmark and has missed United’s last six games.

With Luke Shaw still sidelined, Carrick was forced to field Diogo Dalot as a makeshift left-back in the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.

Shaw is still absent from training along with Marcus Rashford, who is struggling with a hip issue.

United face Roma at Old Trafford on Tuesday without a win in nine matches. The poor run has increased the pressure on head coach Michael Carrick with the board set to assess the 45-year-old’s position in the next international break.

After Roma’s visit, United play Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Sunday in their last game before the November break.

Carrick’s team are currently 17th in the Premier League table and only above the relegation places on goal difference.
