Ruben Loftus-Cheek, a Chelsea midfielder, has resorted to social media to express his feelings about wearing the Blues captain’s armband for the first time during the FA Cup victory over Chesterfield.
At halftime, the 25-year-old stepped in to replace Mateo Kovacic, who had been given the armband from the start.
Loftus-Cheek used to Instagram to express his joy at captaining his boyhood club.

He expressed himself as follows: “It’s a good win, and we’re on to the next round. Wearing the captain’s armband at the conclusion of the game was an incredible sensation.”
When Andreas Christensen was replaced during the second half, the midfielder took over as captain with Chelsea leading 4-0.
After a loan spell at Fulham last season, Loftus-Cheek has recovered from an injury layoff in his first season back at the club.
Chelsea will be praying for no retaliation in the case of Loftus-Cheek, who has battled injuries throughout his career but has now made his way back into the starting lineup under Tuchel.
It’ll be interesting to watch how the player is received after his comeback from injury when Chelsea takes on Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
He made his 100th appearance for the Blues against Spurs in the first leg of the tie, and he is overjoyed to be captaining his team for the first time since breaking into the first squad.
