Aston Villa confirmed the signings of Ibrahim Mbaye and Taylor Harwood-Bellis on Transfer Deadline Day.
Winger Mbaye, 18, was first through the door at Villa Park on Tuesday morning after a permanent transfer was agreed from Paris Saint-Germain.
Centre-back Harwood-Bellis followed after a deal was struck with Southampton, whose bid to get promoted from the Championship to the Premier League last season was scuppered by the Spygate playoff scandal.
Mbaye, who will wear the No. 19 shirt worn by Jadon Sancho last season, is a Senegal international who scored at the World Cup this summer. That made him the youngest African player to score in World Cup history.
Experienced defender Harwood-Bellis has been capped by England — scoring on his debut at Wembley against the Republic of Ireland — and will hope to return to the international scene as a Villa player.

He came through Manchester City‘s academy and has represented Blackburn Rovers, Anderlecht and Burnley before joining Southampton, twice achieving promotion to the Premier League.
Villa have had a busy transfer window, signing Alejandro Garnacho (from Chelsea), João Gomes (Wolves), Johan Manzambi (Freiburg), Modou Keba Cisse (LASK), Matteo Ruggeri (Atletico Madrid), Zion Suzuki (Parma), Aaron Wan-Bissaka (West Ham), Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea) and Leon Goretkza (Bayern Munich).
But they have lost the experience of Emiliano Martínez, Morgan Rogers, Ezri Konsa, Ollie Watkins and Lucas Digne.
