After feeling chest pain during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Alaves, Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero was rushed to hospital for a heart examination. Aguero, 33, had to be taken off before halftime.
The Argentina international was ultimately able to walk off the field before being taken to the hospital for examinations to discover the cause of his injury.
“After the game, first-team player Sergio Aguero felt chest discomfort and was brought to the hospital for a cardiac checkup,” Barca stated in a brief statement.
After experiencing an arrhythmia during Saturday’s game, Aguero will remain in hospital on Sunday for further tests. There is still unknown for his return date.
