Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha has been nominated for the men’s Goalkeeper of the Year award at the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
The 40-year-old was named in the 10-man shortlist after a World Cup campaign which saw him become of the most beloved players at the tournament.
Arsenal‘s David Raya, Paris Saint-Germain‘s Matvei Safonov and Real Madrid‘s Thibaut Courtois have all made the list.
However, there is no room for current Yashin Trophy holder Gianluigi Donnarumma, while Liverpool‘s Alisson Becker also misses out — alongside World Cup starting goalkeepers Mike Maignan and Jordan Pickford.
Vozinha made seven saves against Spain in the group stage as they held the eventual winners to a goalless draw.
The World Cup campaign came after his second season at Portuguese second-division side Chaves, in which he made 19 appearances.
He helped his nation progress from the group stage before being eliminated by Argentina in extra time.

Following the World Cup, Vozinha moved to Chilean side Colo-Colo and now has over 29 million followers on Instagram.
The winner of the award will be announced on Oct. 26 at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in London.
