Ruben Amorim not satisfied with Milan’s start: ‘We can do better’

Coach Ruben Amorim said he was not satisfied with AC Milan‘s start to the season, either in Serie A or the Europa League, as his side look to get their European campaign back on track against Ferencvaros on Thursday.

Milan have collected just three points from their opening three games in Europe’s second tier competition and are 24th in the table after a 3-0 thrashing by Bournemouth last time out.

Their form in Serie A has been more positive, with the side fifth after last weekend’s victory over rivals Inter, but manager Amorim is not satisfied with that either.

“I think we are not doing really well in Serie A,” the former Manchester United boss told a news conference Wednesday. “Of course, we won the last one but I think we should have more points.

“So I’m not satisfied in the Europa League, I’m not satisfied in Serie A. I think we can do better.

“But sometimes it’s like that. Every game has its history. We’ve had some issues in the Europa League but I think tomorrow we can change that if we can win the game.”

Hungarian side Ferencvaros travel to Milan boasting a 100% record in the Europa League.

“This is the most important game,” Amorim said. “We are just thinking about this one. We are going to need to rotate some players but we have a responsibility to win the game.

“We are going to face a big opponent that has nine points in this competition and is not losing any game in their league, but our players are ready.”
