Liverpool closing in on £30m Lucca Brughmans deal – sources

Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans from Belgian side Genk, sources told ESPN.

Liverpool look set to agree a deal in the region of £30million ($41m), although it is likely the 18-year-old will remain on loan at Genk this season.

That situation could be complicated by the future of Liverpool’s No.2 goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who could still depart before Tuesday’s deadline.

Brughmans has made 15 first-team appearances for Genk and kept a a clean sheet in a 4-0 victory against SK Beveren on Friday.

He has also become a regular fixture for Belgium’s youth teams, and has previously cited Real Madrid and Belgium legend Thibaut Courtois as his idol.
