Mexico and us both qualified

The final round of the North American and Caribbean region in the World Qualifiers ended, Mexico and the United States both qualified, and Costa Rica qualified for the play-offs.

In the final round, Mexico beat El Salvador 2-0 at home and the United States lost 2-0 to Costa Rica.

Canada with 28 points has already qualified, and Mexico also ranks second with 28 points due to less goal difference.

The United States and Costa Rica have the same points, the United States ranks third in goal difference, and Costa Rica ranks fourth.

Canada, the United States and Mexico have qualified for the World Cup directly, and Costa Rica will participate in the play-offs to compete with New Zealand for a World Cup qualification.

This is Mexico’s 17th World Cup, the last time they missed it was in 1990. Mexico’s best results were sixth at the 1970 and 1986 World Cups.

The U.S. team played for the 11th time, they did not participate in the 2018 World Cup, and their best result was a third place in the 1930 World Cup.

With the United States and Mexico qualifying, the World Cup has confirmed 29 participating teams, leaving only 3 places that need to be determined through the play-offs.
